Ladder racks, made in Brisbane

Aluminium ladder racks and rack sets built to suit your ute, tray or canopy, manufactured at our Seventeen Mile Rocks workshop.

Built around the load, not a catalogue

A rack that is nearly right is a daily irritation. Ladders that overhang where they should not, a rack too low to open the canopy, or tie down points nowhere near where you actually strap the load.

We build racks to suit the vehicle and the work. That includes how long your ladders are, whether you are loading from the side or the back, whether a canopy or a tray is going underneath, and whether you need to get to the tray with the rack in place.

Everything is aluminium, fabricated in our own Brisbane workshop. Alloy keeps the weight down, which matters more on a rack than almost anywhere else on the vehicle, because it sits high and it sits there permanently.

Racks, trays and canopies from one workshop

We also make the trays, canopies and toolboxes, so a rack does not have to be fitted around someone else's work. When the tray and the rack are built together the mounting points go where they belong and the finished setup behaves like one thing.

If you already have a tray or canopy from elsewhere, we can still build to it. Photos and a few measurements are usually enough to tell you what will work before you commit to anything.

Local, and easy to deal with

The workshop is at 13 Hasp St, Seventeen Mile Rocks, and we have been manufacturing in Brisbane for over 30 years. If something needs adjusting, you are dealing with the people who made it.

Call (07) 3279 6422 with your vehicle and what you carry. We would rather spend five minutes getting the brief right than build you a rack that is close.

Common questions

How much weight will a ladder rack carry?
It depends on the rack and how it is mounted, and the honest limit is usually the vehicle rather than the rack. Tell us what you are carrying, how long it is and how often, and we will build to that rather than quote a number that means nothing without context.
Will a rack fit over my existing tray or canopy?
Usually yes. Racks can be built to sit over a tray, mount to a canopy, or work with a tub. What matters is where the load path goes, so send photos of what you have and we will work out the right mounting rather than guessing.
Can I take it off when I do not need it?
We can build removable and fixed styles. Removable suits people who need the tray clear some days. Fixed is stronger and simpler. Which one is right depends on how often you would actually take it off, and most people overestimate that.
Do you make racks for vans as well as utes?
Yes. We build for vans, utes, trays and cab chassis. If you drive something unusual, that is normal for us, since most of what leaves the workshop is made for a specific vehicle.
